Disney Trip
March 12-19, 2011

*Actually more like a girl's trip to Laguna- and a day at Disneyland*

Saturday

Meema (my mom), Mandi, Brynlie, Eliza, and I took a much needed trip to the beach house.
We left early Saturday morning. The drive started a little rough. I mean- a lot rough. Eliza screamed and screamed until we got to state line. We stopped 3 or 4 times to try to get her to calm down. I knew something was hurting her because she is NEVER like this. If Eliza is crying- there is something wrong. I was at a loss though. I didn't know how to help her. I randomly found a child suppository in my travel bag and decided we'd give it a shot. (She's never had to use them before- and I was desperate!) I gave it to her- and then we walked around for a bit to see if it would help. It was like magic. She was able to go-
and was suddenly back to her angel self.
*I was sooo grateful I found that little thing floating around my bag. What a life saver*
After plenty of potty breaks/lunch breaks/snack breaks/diaper change breaks..
we made it.
After settling in we went out for Gina's.
(it's always our first stop)

Sunday

The first night away is always rough for Eliza- she never sleeps much.
After a long night we decided to take an early (quiet) nap while Mandi, Brnlie, and Meema went to church.

Eliza loves Brynlie.
She copies everything she does.

We spent that afternoon at the beach.
We weren't expecting it to be so warm! It was so nice.

Isn't she beautiful??
But nothing is as beautiful as a belly on my baby.
I want to squeeze her.

That night we BBQ'd on the deck and watched the sunset over the ocean.
It doesn't get any better than that.

Monday

We spent the day shopping in Mission Viejo.
That night we went to Javier's for an early dinner.
Probably the best place ever...

Tuesday

After a rough week at home (my niece Brynlie, lost her Daddy) This vacation couldn't have come at a more perfect time for Mandi and Brynlie. We let Brynlie choose between Sea World and Disneyland. Thank goodness she made the right choice!

Getting us into the "Disney" mood

After her first (and terrifying) ride, which was Peter Pan, we tried to take her on Snow White but she was not having it. She spotted the "horsie" ride- and I couldn't deny her a couple rounds while we waited for the others to finish a couple rides.

We finished out Fantasy Land and had lunch. After lunch Eliza was so tired so I laid her down in the stroller and put the shade down. I thought for sure she would be out with in minutes. We walked around for awhile- then wandered in front of the castle. All the sudden I heard a Mary Poppins song. (we all know how obsessed my child is with Mary Poppins. This obsession has been going on for months!) I looked down to see Eliza sticking her head out of the shade leaning clear over the side looking back at me saying "Poppy! Poppy!" I couldn't get her out fast enough. I'm pretty sure I was more excited than she was.

And this is what she did the whole time:

Just stared. No dancing, no singing. Even when "Steppin Time" came on she just stood there.
Star struck I guess.
But seeing "Poppy" totally made MY day!

She finally fell asleep- for 20 minutes...

We took her on the Jungle cruise and she completely loved it. She was so excited I couldn't resist asking if we could stay on and do it again. She was just as excited the second time around.

It was such a crazy day. We were all over the place. We went on certain rides multiple times. Ate a ton of junk food, and spoiled the kids rotten. By the time we sat down for dinner at 8:30 p.m.- we didn't think we would make it out of the park alive.
They did one last ride while I got Eliza ready for bed- then we dragged ourselves home.

Wednesday

We spent most of the day recovering from the long day before. We spent the afternoon at The Spectrum. Eliza couldn't pass up the carousel of course. And I can't resist my baby girl so....

We did dinner at Cheesecake Factory. Dessert at Rocky Mountain. And a movie at the house.

Thursday

We made our way up to LA to see Corby and Rebecca and their family.
(who recently moved to Studio City).

We met up at The Grove
(anther mall of course)
And ate lunch at Cheesecake Factory.
Afterwords we took the girls to the American Girl store for a couple hours.
I was so wishing Eliza was old enough to have her own doll and participate in the craziness.
I'm sure I won't be saying that in a couple years from now.

We were in Hollywood so I couldn't pass up the chance to take Eliza to see her Great Great Grandfather's star on Hollywood Boulevard.
(I was excited to see it too)
Craig's Great Grandparents were both movie stars. His Grandma was even in a couple movies with them as a baby.
It was so fun to see!

We spent the rest of the day at Corby and Rebecca's house. It was so fun to see where they are living now. We miss them so much- but now we have an excuse to visit Hollywood more.
I miss it.

Friday

Another relaxing day at the beach.

*one of my favorite things- She thinks the sunscreen stick is deodorant*

We got take out and spent the evening relaxing at the house.

A week goes by so fast when you're having such a blast.
Thank you Meema for this amazing girls trip.
We will never forget it!
