Excuse me while I ramble... it's been an emotional few days.
The last 20 months my body has not been my own. I have shared it with my sweet little girl- (first through pregnancy, then through nursing), and I have enjoyed every second of it. I thought when our time together was up I'd be relieved. But it has hit me. Hard. After crying myself to sleep last night (with Craig rubbing my back and telling me it'll be ok), I woke up this morning with a pit in my stomach. This would be our last feeding together.
It all started in the recovery room after my C-section. The nurse brought little Eliza in to me and I got to hold her for the first time. She laid her on my chest, and she immediately knew what to do. It was incredible. After that first feeding, things got a little rough. We struggled for the first few days in the hospital. When we were ready to go home I was worried! No nurses there to help? What will we do???? We managed. She didn't give up and neither did I. And then came the pain. Oh the pain... I didn't know something could be so painful! Why didn't anybody tell me? I actually remember at one point saying to Craig: "I would rather go through labor again than do this." (But I didn't mean it) I think the pain lasted a good 3 weeks. I remember crying in pain- and Craig crying with me in sympathy. It was hard! (and we were both emotional) Then we started getting better at it. It became enjoyable. It was Mommy and me time. Time she could only spend with me. She needed me. And I loved it. The awkward, long, uncomfortable public feedings became simple and easy. (I could actually leave the house, it was great). Nursing was actually easy. Imagine that.
Now, 10.5 months later, our time "together" is coming to an end. It started "ending" a few weeks ago when I became super stressed. On top of the stress, I had to work every day one week, which meant 2 pumps a day. My pumps went from 10 oz each time, to 4 oz. Which stressed me out even more, which was very stressful. Needless to say- I was stressed. Her feedings weren't going that great. I was making bottles on top of nursing. She just wasn't getting enough. I finally had to admit, it was time to end. How depressing!
Well, she's a little rock star. This has been a breeze for her. No complaints whatsoever. The only one doing any complaining is me. She is absolutely fine. Which, might be making it harder on me. Does she even care??? I guess this means she's ready. Even if I'm not. Our time "together" ends today. I hope I survive. And maybe I'll actually enjoy having my body back to myself. I guess we will find out.

Ok so we have a tiny baby with a huge head.
She's only gained 1 lb in 3 months.
Dr. Kaddu says I don't have to stress,
But it's hard not to.
She got the nasty stomach flu that's been going around.
As if she's not small enough...
She hardly ate for about 4 days, and now she hardly eats anything.
It's stressing me out.
She slept on us all day long while she was sick.
(she's never slept anywhere but her crib)
I think she got a little spoiled- she's become pretty clingy now.
She pulls herself up on things, but doesn't know how to get back down.
After a while she starts crying and we have to help her sit back down.
She walks with her little walker toy.
She is busy busy busy.

We can't keep her away from stairs.
She plays the stair game with us... you know...
the one where she gets to the bottom stair and then turns around and looks at us like...
What are you going to do about it?
2 more teeth have broken through in the last couple days.
I'm blaming her refusing to eat on that.
I'm hoping it gets better.
She's still so sensitive in every way.
Strangers, bonks, foods...
Everybody gets a kick out of her "girly" personality.
She's starting to eat table foods with us.
(since I can't get her to eat anything else)
She loves beans, blueberries, grapes, corn, rice, mangos, bananas & noodles.
She eats better when we eat with her.
She dances.
Any time there is music (even hymns) she's bouncing around.
She sings if anybody is singing.
She loves swimming.
She gets so excited when she sees a pool.
She hates the lake.
Or should I say... her life jacket.

I've started the weaning process.
I really wanted to make it to 12 months,
but it's just not happening.
(and I'm trying not to be depressed about it)
But that's a whole other post.
Yep... still loving my baby girl more than life.

It's our {2} year Anniversary today!
I've been wanting to write our story down for 2 years now.
I finally did it.
Sorry to bore you- but obviously... I never want to forget it!

Sometimes I wonder where and what I would be doing if this and that wouldn't have happened. Let me tell you a little something about me. After I graduated from H.S. (2000), I moved away. I was "away" for 8 years. Orem, Europe, Tour buses, Florida, South America, Provo, Hawaii, Cruising, California, United States. I feel like I went/lived everywhere and dated everyone. Life was amazing and I was living it up! Let's fast forward to summer of 2007. I had been living in California, Huntington Beach to be exact. I was getting sick of it. (which is what I do, I get sick of things). I decided to take my dog and move home to St. George for a nice relaxing summer. The fact that my parents had just moved into their resort-like home helped with my decision... I needed a vacation! So- I moved. Home. Where I haven't "lived" in years. While living in St. George I decided Salt Lake would be my next move. It felt right. I had been talking to my good friend Marci, who I love to pieces, about getting a house together and it was going to be great. So the decision was made, and it was only a matter of time before the house was finished being built so we could move in. I felt good about it- and I couldn't wait to live with my Marcella again!
Fast forward to December, 2007. The house was taking forever!!! It kept getting pushed back and pushed back. By this point I was soooo ready to just be up in SLC. Now they were saying mid-January it would be ready. Yay!

One of my besties Lisa, was here visiting me from California. We were trying to decide what 2 single girls were going to do in this fabulous town, when Bryce Winward called her. I had no idea who Bryce was. But we happened to be driving past "Craig King's" house the second he called her, which is where Bryce was. So we pulled in, and there we were! Sitting on this Craig guys couch, watching a football game (Craig was in a t-shirt and sweats). How I had never met or even heard of this Craig guy, I have no idea. But he was cute, and he was funny. We ended up at my house just hot tubing and hanging out. I have to admit- I was impressed! This dude seemed pretty cool, and bonus >>> he was cute!

Craig called Lisa to see what we were going to do for New Years. We decided to bring him along with us. We went to Outback with some friends, then walked around downtown at First Night for awhile. It was FREEZING!
So we hit the party scene. Lame. I'll leave the drama out- and just say- it was a pretty dramatic night for both of us (separately). So... we realized we actually knew a lot of the same people... which is so weird because I had never met him before!

Happy Birthday Sleez! Lisa was still in town and I wanted to celebrate her birth- because she's amazing, so I invited some of our friends over. We included Craig and Scotty Gubler because I still thought he was cute and cool and funny. So they came over for Pizza, Puzzles, and a movie. Apparently sometime during the night I touched Craig's back as I walked passed him. (and he will never forget it) Our first intimate moment! Then while watching a movie, all in separate chairs, I laid on the arm away from him. (woops) In his mind- I wasn't into him. And in my mind? He wasn't into me.

Salt Lake City, UT. I had planned to go to Salt Lake to finalize my house, sign the contract, and just hang out with Marci love. I met with my landlord, she gave me the contract, she ok'd my dog.. everything was looking great. I took the contract with me and told her I would fax it to her- for some reason I just didn't want to do it right then. The next stop was the house. Marci was there to take me through it and explain everything. It was so cute!!!! But I was sick. I couldn't get excited about it and I didn't know why! I called my Mom and told her I wasn't feeling good about it, that I couldn't get a good feeling. But decided maybe I was just nervous. Craig and I were texting a little bit while I was there. We decided we'd do something when I got back. If you talked to him he would say I told him I'd call him on my way home the next day. But I SWEAR he told me he'd call me. So.....
January 3, 2008
I got home from Salt Lake around 5 or 6. Showered, got ready, ate dinner, and waited and waited and waited. I never do this! Why hadn't he called? I never worry about stuff like this. I was bugging myself. I even put my phone in my room so I wouldn't continually look at it and wonder why he hadn't called. On the other hand.... Craig was waiting and waiting and waiting. He even worked out and went running to take his mind off it too. Finally he caved and texted me "How is Salt Lake" which really meant, "why haven't you called me yet?". It was too late to really do anything so I went over to his house to hang out. I sat on the love sac, while he sat on the sofa- and we talked. For hours. I told him I had a crush on him. (He'll never forget that one either). I think it was about 4 a.m. when I finally left. After a short dance to "You've got a way" (hence our wedding song) and no it wasn't cheesy- I thought it was amazing. He walked me to my car- hugged me- and I left. On cloud 9 that is. The next morning I casually said to my Mom "I think I'm going to marry that boy". How did I know that? I guess I really didn't... just dreaming.

Two of our mutual friends were getting married. We went to their reception -separately. He went to dinner with his friends after (I was bummed). But he invited me over later to watch a movie with them. We watched 300. But when I say watched I mean talked. We cuddled and talked through the whole thing. That night I knew. I knew I wasn't moving to Salt Lake. I knew I'd never felt like this. I knew he was amazing. And I knew I didn't want to live without him. That night was our first kiss- and then I REALLY knew...
Game over. Within a couple weeks we knew we were in love. We were together every chance we got. We talked every night all night. Yes- he said it first- and yes, I said it back. It didn't take long for wedding talk. Ring talk. Date talk.
It just felt perfect and amazing and wonderful! He asked me to be his forever on April 3rd, and we were married June 7th.
There were times I thought we were crazy. This type of thing would NEVER happen to me. (Ya right) I'm not one of those girls who falls in love after a couple weeks- and married less than 6 months later??? Well guess what- I am. And I am ok with that. The best part? We are living our happily ever after. Oh and did I mention we made the coolest little girl ever? She is amazing and we love her and she loves us. Life doesn't get any better than this...
Happy Anniversary Love... I'm so glad I'm yours forever!
