3.22.2010

So many things...
{St. Patrick's Day}

Although we didn't do anything special... we did actually wear green. I ironically made Honey Lime Green Enchiladas that night... sorry- no picture. It was delicious though- does that help?

{Coppy Cat}

I can't get enough of this stage. Lately she has been a little coppy cat! She does a fake cough every time we cough- it's become a game. She blows bubbles when we do. And just yesterday we caught her doing this...

My neice was singing a country song and we were all clapping along and I look at her and she is too! I thought maybe it was just a coincidendence- but she does it every time we clap. It's amazing. We love it!

{Crawling, Crawling, Crawling}

She is all over the place
(as we expected)

{Horses}

She wasn't quite sure about this big thing. (Not quite as exciting as dogs) She was a little hesitant to touch him. I should have filmed it. She would reach out and just about touch him...then pull her hand back quickly. I'm sure she'll warm up to him. She'll be riding with Daddy in no time.

{Picnics}

The weather has been so beautiful we've been spending some time outside. On Sunday we had a picnic for lunch.

She doesn't like grass. She would crawl to the edge of the blanket, and as soon has her hand would touch the grass it was raised to the air and she was stuck. She was on three wheels saying "eh...uh...eh". Not quite as bad as the sand reaction (but I guess she wasn't sitting in it)

{Laundry baskets}

Are so much fun

{Big Girl}

The other day I was on the phone when Eliza woke up, so Craig ran upstairs to get her. I couple minutes later I hear "Babe- can you come help me?" So I walk into her room and see her on the floor playing, her bumper and mattress on the ground, and Craig with a wrench. I thought something broke- when I asked what happened he said: "When I came in she was on the bumper pulling herself up on the railing." Needless to say- it scared him. I'm sure she's not strong enough to climb out or anything... but I guess it was a good time to get it done. My baby is so big girl!

{March Madness}

Too dang cute

{Chunky Monkey}

Look at those cute rolls on her legs. We've got a chunky little monkey!

{Elk Ridge}

We spent last weekend in Elk Ridge with Jeff and Kelly and their sweet family. Can I just say- they have the most beautiful/welcoming home! After leaving I almost feel homesick. We are so grateful for their hospitality, and their willingness to let us "crash" in their basement!
Every time we're there we get breakfast in the morning, snack on their famous salsa all day, and then a fabulous home cooked dinner (it's always too hard to go out with 3 babies).
We love our visits!!!

This weekend there was reason to celebrate!
These two love birds...are getting married!
Craig's older brother Cory got engaged Friday night so there was lots of wedding talk and pictures and of course-food. We are so excited and so so happy for both of them!

{Friday}
03.12.10

Hanging out with cousin Barrett
(just 3 weeks apart...it's so fun)
Naked girl eating din din...

We decided to show everybody her new trick.

This same night we discovered her first tooth! It was a big day...

{Saturday}
03.13.10

We shopped until we dropped! Cabella's and the Mall are all day events!
We had at "Girl's Lunch" at P.F. Changs while the boys took the kids.
(No pictures)
Did I mention it was a blizzard?

{Sunday}
03.14.10

Church at 9:00
and yes...it was still snowing

We've discovered balls
and we love them!
I guess it takes a weekend with a bunch of boys to figure that out.
I guess its time to get some balls.

3.06.2010

Don't mind if I do!

I have every intention to shower and get ready while Eliza is down for her morning nap. Somehow I end up waiting until I start hearing her "waking up" noises- then rush to the shower and try to make it out before she's crying. Which means I don't blow dry my hair... which means up it goes... which means slob again. Why do I do this???

I wish I was Asian. That way I could make the most delicious food every day.

If I could change one thing about myself it would be my skin. I loath after people with pretty skin. With their non-pores and flawless features. I envy you.

I take burning hot showers. The kind where my skin turns fire engine red and my entire house is a steam room. I could stay in them all day. I never get these anymore...

I want to be organized. I really do. But... I'm just... not.

I married for money. (but not in real life) When I met Craig he had: A road bike. A fourwheeler. A dirt bike. A ski boat. A huge brand new beautiful sexy amazing truck. Then he married me and got rid of it all. And I AM SO THANKFUL! I still love him- crazy right?? Money will just have to wait...

I'm a picker. I pick and pick and pick. It drives Craig nuts. He's even started an intervention. Every time I pick my face he flicks me hard. It doesn't work.

I love popcorn. It doesn't love me. I don't even care. Kettle. Marshmallow. Caramel. Butter. Bring it on.

I'm a Hunter. I hunt. I got 100% on my hunter safety. I put in for the Elk and Deer hunt. Who saw THAT coming? Not me.

We're trying to live on a budget. Benja's Thai and Sushi doesn't fit into our budget. It's depressing.

I'm pretty sure I have two hearts. I love my two loves with all my two hearts. I can't get enough of either one.

{Day 0}
Friday

Our trip actually started in Vegas on Friday night. Our flight left at 6 a.m. on Saturday, so needless to say, a night in Vegas was a must! Craig and I drove straight to The Cheesecake Factory for a "Valentine's Day" dinner (really it was just our justification for eating a ton of food). We went to bed as early as possible- not sleeping much since Eliza was in the room with us. And when you have to get up at 4:30 in the morning, who really sleeps anyway???

{Day 1}
Saturday

Vegas to L.A.
I was pretty nervous about the flights. I really just didn't know what to expect from our little one! The last thing I wanted to be was that family everybody is so annoyed with the entire flight. I packed everything I could think of that might help any situation possible.
All of it was useless because this is what she did the second the plane's engines turned on.

I was so relieved...

L.A. to Cabo
Craig was jealous that Eliza slept on me the whole plane ride (an entire 50 minutes...she has never slept in our arms before) so this time he wanted her. This is right when we were taking off...
Two hours later...

She totally zonked the whole flight. "What a good baby!" is all we heard from complete strangers.

{At the airport waiting for our cab}

Finally reached
The Playa Grande

View from
The Ridge

That night we went to dinner at Pepe's.
Craig had been dreaming about their pork tacos and baked potato since last year. We had to go their our first night so we could go again during the week.

{Day 2}
Sunday

We woke up early and went to 9 o'clock church.

We spent the rest of the day at the pool. It was Eliza's first time being in a pool. I thought she would hate it- but she actually loved it!

That night we went to an Italian restaurant that we had never been to before.
(No pictures)
Service was horrible... food was great!
Happy Valentine's Day!!!

{Day 3}
Monday

Our first day of just relaxing!
Pool time...

Dinner at La Dolce's... the family's favorite!
Every year we come here 1 or 2 times. The pizza is the best, and their pasta is even better. We're missing the food already...

{Day 4}
Tuesday
Happy Birthday Mom!!!

The annual "Family Meeting" in the morning- then straight to the pool!

We celebrated at Mi Casa.
It has an amazing "Mexican" atmosphere.
Rebecca and I actually took Eliza back there to do an unofficial photoshoot.
(Pictures to come later)

The whole family

The Birthday girl with all of her babies
(Minus Tyson)

The ones who make this happen every year...
(for the past 18 years)
We love you both so much!

Happy Birthday Grandma!!!

{Day 5}
Wednesday

Since we've been going to Cabo for 18 years now, our routine is pretty much the same.
6:00 a.m. - Fishing on the beach

No we didn't plan our "morning outfits"
It just happened...

8:00 a.m. - Breakfast
9:00 a.m. - Pool side
Snacks. Books. Lunch. Games. Ipods. Football. Swimming. Pink Pong. Volleyball. Drinks.
5:30 p.m. - Walk to town for dinner
Early to bed... Early to rise

We thought we'd done everything that Cabo has to offer...
But this year Craig was determined to go surfing. So we planned a trip to Los Cerritos (45 minutes away) where there were surfing waves.

After Craig battled the huge waves for 30 minutes (seriously- they were huge)
He came in super frustrated from fighting the under tow and the waves.
I decided I wanted to try- so we took the board over to the small waves to just see.
Totally showed my husband up when I popped up on the first wave and rode it all the way in. Caught the second wave too. After that my luck ran out.

{Britta}
After I rocked it (haha I wish) Craig decided to try out the smaller waves too.
He got up like a champ.
If you look closely, on one of those photos you can see me behind Craig catching a pretty nice sized wave. Oh wait... I think that might be me in the front watching.
Surfing is hard.

{Craig}

She was diggin the sand...

Dinner at Pepe's again.
Can't get enough of their baked potatoes.
Is it weird that we order baked potatoes in Mexico?
If only you knew...

Eliza fell asleep in my Dad's arms.
I think it was the highlight of his trip- in real life.

{Day 6}
Thursday

Watching Daddy fish in the morning.
We love watching the sun rise!

Slide with Daddy

View from the pool on the ridge.

Dinner was at Salvatore's.
Amazing as always!

Craig just can't wait to be able to throw Eliza up onto his shoulders.
He wanted to practice... I thought it was the cutest.
I love love love these two.

{Day 7}
Friday

We had our annual breakfast at Mama's.
We went to town a little early to get some pictures of Eliza (Thanks you Rebecca!!!)
After the photoshoot and breakfast, Eliza was completely worn out.

We stopped on the docks on the way home to look at the baby lions. I took her hat off and two seconds later I looked over and this is what I saw...

What an angel...

Another day up on the ridge.
We like it up there because it's quiet and there's a slide for the kids.

(Minus Adelaide)

(I couldn't resist posting the goofy face)

{Day 8}
Saturday

What a depressing day!

Fishing at sunrise- unbelievable

She loved her toes in the sand... but once she touched it with her fingers...

She was done.

The trip home was a complete disaster.
Delays. Missed flights. Nasty food. No sleep. Lay overs. Long hours. 2 Planes. Drive from Vegas.

Eliza was such a little trooper. When we missed our flight in L.A. I was seriously in tears.
Eliza was so tired (Because she wouldn't sleep on the flight from Cabo)
But she was still happy!

Come on Eliza... Tell us how you really feel...

We finally made it home at 4 a.m.
But it was so worth it!
